Jane Fonda (1937)
By Peter Klasen (Lübeck, 1935)
Acrylic on strong paper, airbrush execution
« Jane Fonda is seduction itself. She is a woman who, for me, has multiple qualities, an intellectual who has thought a lot about American society and its excesses, health, sex, love, spirit... These are issues that concern us all. »
Hollywood actress made famous for her role in Barbarella (1968), Jane Fonda is also known for her struggles : women's rights and environmental protection. Starting in the 1970s, she campaigned to stop the American bombing of Vietnam. At the same time, she became a star in aerobics to finance the causes in which she is involved.
