Kamala Harris, American politician

WHY HER ? « HER NOMINATION IS THE MARKER OF THE AMERICAN ELECTIONS. IT REPRESENTS THE FUNDAMENTAL VALUES OF AMERICA: FREEDOM, EQUALITY, FRATERNITY, BUT ALSO DIVERSITY. »

She was the great surprise of the American election campaign. Kamala Harris, born in 1964 in Oakland, California, California Attorney General and then Senator, chosen by Democrat Joe Biden as Vice President, boosted the campaign of Donald Trump's challenger. A highly publicized opponent, « intelligent, strong, ready to lead, » who annoyed the opposing camp. Born to an Indian mother and a Jamaican father, she embodies a new generation of women ready to fight social inequality and restore meaning to the often forgotten term «  servant of the state » .

By Jules De Balincourt

This 46-year-old French-American artist lives between Brooklyn, Costa Rica and Paris. His palette borrows its tonality from the Fauvist expressionists as well as psychedelic painters. His strong colors, his free forms can be enchanting as well as disturbing. His universe - the innumerable details of the cities he paints, his trees with interminable branches, the agonizing vegetation of his virgin forests, his interiors where the furniture seems alive - sometimes reminds us of the British painter Peter Doig. Even if he denies it: « I try to overcome darkness by painting light. »

THE CAUSE : STUDIO MUSEUM DE HARLEM, which supports access to art and artists of African origin.
