By Andrea Tyrimos

Andrea Tyrimos, born in 1986, lives and works in London. Her subject is vulnerability, particularly that of people with psychiatric problems. She creates intimate and striking portraits of her models, which she interviews at the same time as she paints them. She expresses the loneliness of these isolated, misunderstood, different beings, with a soft and delicate painting that manages to reach the depths of the being. For Andrea Tyrimos, the stigmas of mental illness can be seen on the face. It is this flaw that she manages to capture and reproduce.
